Jon Kessler is a cancer survivor and cancer coach.  In July of 2017, a tumor was found in his colon during his routine colonoscopy.   When his tumor was removed, he was diagnosed with th Stage 3A colon cancer. That was followed up with 3 months of chemotherapy.  Jon faced a lot of issues – physical and mental – as he went through his treatment and cancer journey.

In 2021, after years of working in the corporate world, Jon decided to become a Certified Life Coach, Health and Wellness Coach, and Spiritual Coach, emphasizing clients dealing with the daily struggles of cancer. His coaching practice, Cancer Care Coaching, helps others to feel empowered to thrive after their diagnosis and continue managing their full lives, maintaining financial stability, and feeling like themselves again. His motto is “taking you from surviving to thriving”!

Jon offers one-on-one coaching using his proprietary program.  He has also led workshops across the country and for the Dominica Cancer Society.  He was a guest on a radio show in Dominica and regularly guests on podcasts and lifestreams.

Q What is a cancer coach?

A cancer coach is an individual who works with his/her clients to overcome limiting issues that prevent living as full as life as possible while going through cancer. Many coaches work with their clients to look at physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual issues the client is dealing with. By empowering a client with tools to overcome these issues, the client learns how to move past these issues, turning them into assets for battling their disease. We are not medical professionals but have been certified in coaching techniques that benefit our clients. Many times a cancer coach, like myself, is a survivor themselves. We know what you are going through at this time. We have had the same emotions, physical challenges and spiritual questioning you may be facing. We can work with you through EMPATHY rather than SYMPATHY. Remember you are never alone in this journey. A cancer coach is here for you to provide support to you to help you go from SURVIVING to THRIVING!

Q What is a holistic approach to coaching?

In holistic coaching, we look at any and everything that may be on your mind, may it be physical, spiritual and emotional. We work with “all of you” to help you find the answers you are looking for. Whatever you may want to deal with, we can work on it.

Q What about Confidentiality?

What we discuss in your sessions, stays in those sessions. It is important to build your trust and I take every precaution to safeguard it. In my Client Agreement, you will receive if you purchase a package, it provides a link to the ethical code that governs all client-coach relationships. This link places my standards in your view, but also codifies my commitment to you, the client and your progress.

Q How Do We Conduct Our Sessions?

How Do We Conduct Our Sessions? We will meet via Zoom. When you sign up for your session, you will receive a link to my Zoom account as part of the confirmation email. If I have sent you forms before our time together, I ask that you complete the forms and send them back to me before our scheduled session.
