Setting aside time to reflect on what God has brought me through, where I’m currently at and where I’m headed has been a huge blessing to me over the years in my spiritual development.
I knew that in 2025, I had to move to Santa Marta, Colombia in order to do what God wanted me to do when it came to the events that he wanted to host. All the way back in 2007, I had heard how beautiful Santa Marta was, that the beach was better than Cartagena and that it wasn’t as crowded during the high season.
I went to visit Santa Marta, which is on the Caribbean coast at the beginning of 2008. I’ll never forget that when I stepped off the plane, I felt a sense of belonging and during my stay there, the way I was treated by the people of Santa Marta gave me a feeling of being at home.
God placed in my heart the desire to help people abroad who are suffering from the mental health crisis and the loneliness epidemic by organizing events for love and friendship here in Colombia; only I had to be located in Santa Marta.
I made a written goal this year 2026 to move to Santa Marta in February, which by the Lord’s will and grace, I accomplished. I also made a decision to prioritize God and make my conversation and prayer time with him the first thing I do upon waking up. Once I started, I found that God would wake me up earlier and earlier every day. Now, he wakes me up every morning at 4:30 or 5 am.
A couple of weeks ago, God woke me up at 5 am and he said to me through the Holy Spirit, “Be”. “Be the man you’ve been called to be.” “Be the man you’ve been purposed to be.” “Be the man you’ve been ordained to be.”
The interested thing is that if you take a look at Genesis chapter 1 in the Bible, when God blessed the man and the woman he created, he said, “Be fruitful (productive, profitable, rewarding, and successful)“, which is in the present tense and gives way for immediate manifestation from what he commanded.
So, God and I had the following conversation:
God:If you think about all the major brands in the world, people believe in those brands and purchase them because of the person who is behind them- (Amazon – Jeff Bezos), (Tesla – Elon Musk), (Nike – Phil Knight). You need a personal brand.
God: Back in 2013 you were talking with your friend and he told you, “Jason, you’re the perfect Wingman.” You were purposed to connect people.
Me: O.k., I’ll change my personal brand to JW THE WINGMAN. I love the way that sounds! How do I go about making my personal brand on social media.
God: Go to Youtube and watch all the videos you can on Personal Branding.
So, I obeyed the Lord and I watched about 3 hours worth of videos from experts on Youtube on Personal Branding. Once I was done with that, I needed a social media plan. Then God gave me the idea to go to ChatGPT and ask for a social media plan for my personal brand for all of my social media accounts.
I took the plan and immediately changed all the banner images, profile photos and descriptions of my accounts on Linkedin, Facebook and Instagram.
Since changing my personal brand and announcing it everywhere as God commanded, he began to connect me to people to collaborate with in order to bring my dreams to reality.
