The Teacher Story Claimed

My name is Jackie Scully, and I am a history/psychology teacher, podcast creator/host of The Teacher Story, Co-founder of The Teacher Circle LinkedIN group, education reform and teacher advocate, wife, and dog mom to two adorable cavaliers.  I have my M.Ed and BSED in Social Studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

I have been teaching for 17 years. I have taught in China, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and now New Jersey. I have taught in public, charter, and private schools.

My mission now as a veteran teacher is to elevate teacher’s voices and put them at the forefront of the education reform movement, and that was my motivation behind starting my podcast. The great exodus of teachers leaving the profession needs to be addressed and their voices need to be heard.

Great educators are leaving and great educators are staying in the profession. My motivation along with the other two co-founders of The Teacher Circle is to support the teachers staying in the profession and others in education.

My hope is that with working together and empowering educators we can change the system from the inside. Change does not happen over night and it takes heart, passion, and dedication.

I want to see teachers become the leaders of society and gain the respect and salary they deserve! Let’s lift up our educators around the world!
